Coimisiún na Meán has de-designated Reddit as a Video-Sharing Platform Service (VSPS). Reddit’s service to users in the EU is now provided by a Dutch entity. Under the EU country-of-origin principle, Coimisiún na Meán is responsible for regulating VSPSs which are under the jurisdiction of the State. Coimisiún na Meán works closely with the European Commission and regulators across the EU to ensure that people, especially children, are protected from being harmed by the content or behaviour they encounter online.
