Coimisiún na Meán has today (23.09.25) launched a new round of its Sponsorship Scheme, which will provide approximately €300,000 in funding to support a range of media-related events and activities during the coming year.
Sponsorship can be sought for media sector events that align with Coimisiún na Meán’s Strategy Statement and its aim of developing a thriving and safe media landscape. Assessment of proposals will take into consideration the nature of the event, its relevance to An Coimsiún’s work, value for money, and promotional aspects included in the application.
Coimisiún na Meán Media Development Commissioner Rónán Ó Domhnaill said: ‘We are delighted today to launch the latest round of our Sponsorship Scheme which will provide support for media events and activities for Irish audiences at a national level and in communities across the island of Ireland – highlighting the diversity, creativity and innovation within the Irish media sector.’
‘The applicants who receive sponsorship in this round will help us to ensure a media landscape that is sustainable, pluralistic and participative, and that reflects who we are as a society. I would encourage eligible organisations across Ireland to consider applying for sponsorship if planning for a relevant media event in 2026. We look forward to seeing the range and variety of events and activities as they take place in the coming year.’
Awardees from previous rounds of the Sponsorship Scheme include:
- Dingle Animation Festival
- GORM Gathering 2025
- Irish Film and Television Awards
- Gradaim Chumarsáide an Oireachtais
- GAZE Film Festival
- Choice Music Prize
- Radiodays Ireland
The closing date for applications is 12pm on 21 October 2025.
