Coimisiún na Meán has today (15.01.2026) awarded €314,000 to 30 successful applicants across Ireland for media sector events and activities in 2026.
The funding has been awarded under An Coimisiún’s Sponsorship Scheme which supports media-related events and activities that align with our Strategy Statement and our aim of developing a thriving and pluralistic media landscape in Ireland.
Coimisiún na Meán Media Development Commissioner Rónán Ó Domhnaill said: “Coimisiún na Meán is delighted to announce the successful applicants in the latest round of our Sponsorship Scheme. This funding allows us to support media organisations to host events and activities that reflect the diversity of Irish society and highlight the creativity and innovation in Irish media today.
“We believe that a vibrant, well-funded media sector that is sustainable, pluralistic and participative ultimately benefits Irish audiences of all ages and interests, including the Irish language, and we look forward to seeing the range and variety of events and activities as they take place over the course of the coming year.”

- Creative Calling / Creative Careers
- Headline Mental Health Media Awards
- Cork International Film Festival
- Craol Community Radio Achievement Awards
- Fís TV Summit
- GAZE Film Festival Ltd
- Fastnet Film Festival
- Women in Film and Television International Summit
As in previous year’s the Sponsorship Scheme was over-subscribed – with 55 applicants seeking a total of over €850,000 – highlighting the importance of this type of funding for the sector.
