Coimisiún na Meán has today (16.09.2026) announced the launch of the Next Generation Albert Toolkit for Irish users.
The Next Generation BAFTA Albert Toolkit is a new web-based carbon emissions tracking platform that provides comprehensive forecasting, measurement & reporting, actionable decarbonisation insights and certification for sustainable productions.
Significant enhancements have been made to develop the Next Generation Toolkit, including a new Carbon Calculator, Sustainable Production Guidance, and updated Certification Programme.
The Next Generation Toolkit launches on 16 September 2026, with the Current Toolkit closing on 17 December 2026.
Rónán Ó Domhnaill, Media Development Commissioner at Coimisiún na Meán, said: Climate change is one of the biggest challenges we face, and tackling it requires all of us to take action. Following a recommendation from the Future of Media Commission, Coimisiún na Meán officially launched the Albert Ireland partnership in April 2025.
We have reached another important milestone in our commitment to fostering a media industry that is both environmentally and socially responsible. As Albert’s official partner in Ireland, we’ll continue to help the Irish media sector reduce its environmental impact by providing access to regionally tailored training and support throughout the certification process.
The Albert Ireland team hosts a free monthly webinar on MS Teams at 2pm on second Tuesday of the month. Register for the October session.
