Coimisiún na Meán understands the importance of recognising and promoting the range of talent and creativity across Ireland’s media sector. We sponsor a range of media related events and activities each year that increases the prominence and visibility of culturally relevant content for Irish audiences. We look forward to engaging with a diverse range of groups to promote their work and our role within the media sector. 

We operate a sponsorship round each year, calling for applications to support a range of media events and activities taking place across the country that align with our Strategy Statement and promote our work within the media sector.   

Coimisiún na Meán defines sponsorship as: 

“a contribution in money offered to an organisation, or individual, for the purposes of supporting the staging an event, providing a service or undertaking an activity which is in keeping with Coimisiún na Meán’s objectives, with the expectation of a specific outcome.”

What can be sponsored under the Scheme?

Examples of sponsored events and activities include media festivals, award ceremonies, and media conferences and seminars. 

What cannot be sponsored: The production of films, television or radio programmes, or the recording of podcasts, and/or mentorship or training programmes. For opportunities in these areas our other funding programmes may be of interest.
